Beloved brothers and sisters in Chirst
Beloved brothers and sisters in Christ

Today we look with greater horror at Ukraine - our neighbor on the eastern border. There is a war so close to us, which each day devours more and more victims. So close to us, bombs and fires destroy homes! So close to us we hear shots of tanks, cannons, and rifles! With each passing day more and more victims of this cruel war are growing. We already have hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian mothers with their children. The column of people crossing the border is getting longer with each passing day. We cannot predict what will happen the next day. People who flee from the war need our help!

The Orthodox Diocese of Lublin and Chelm, through the activities of its organization, the Foundation for Dialogue of Nations, is already actively helping the victims of the war and with its Christian love is ready to continue to help all those suffering, brothers and sisters who are in great need.

We are currently entering the Lenten period. It is the most significant time in the Church year when we are called to earnest prayer, penance, and good deeds. Jesus Christ Himself teaches us that certain kinds of evil can only be cast out by prayer and fasting. This Gospel message is most relevant in this very difficult time.

I turn to you beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, members of our Diocese, and also to all people of goodwill to help the victims of this war. The gifts of your hearts will go directly to both, the brothers and sisters in Ukraine as well as to the refugees who came to our Diocese.
